Reflecting on 2018, I am so thankful for the opportunities, people and projects I had the chance to work with throughout the year.
In March, I was chosen as an Australian delegate to the United Nations for the Commission on the Status of Women, promoting gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls around the world.
From January to July, as Campaign Manager of The Home Stretch, our team was able to achieve legislative reform in Tasmania, South Australia and Victoria to ensure young people in foster care received the support they needed after their 18th birthdays, instead of being cut off from the system.
@Kati Elizabeth and I co-wrote, produced and delivered a specialist Activator program for Victoria University, which led to five innovative start-ups 'for good' being created.
In the second half of the year, Kati and I rolled out the Activator while I was working full time, completing my Centre for Australian Progress Fellowship and volunteering as Vice President of National Homeless Collective.
None of this would've been possible without the support of the people I have the pleasure of working with. Here's to whatever 2019 brings our way.
