Hey, Nevena here

About me:

I'm a committed advocate with a passion for contributing to and enriching LGBTIQA+ communities. I live, work and campaign on Wurundjeri Country.

Currently, I'm Co-Convener of the Victorian Pride Lobby, Board member of Thorne Harbour Health, volunteer with GiveOUT Day Australia, Co-Founder of Climate Five, spokesperson for the Centre for Economic Progress, and member of Banyule’s LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group. I believe the community works best when it works together.

Deloitte and Google named me one of the Outstanding 50 LGBTI+ Leaders of 2020, and I was part of the team that won the Globe "Advocacy of the Year" campaign. I was also a finalist in Pro Bono's Impact 25 awards in 2021 and 2022, and was featured as one of the ten faces of Mardi Gras' We Rise campaign.

What I'm up to:

  • Climate Five to support people to take 5 simple steps to take climate action. We just launched Climate Block, a free browser extension that blocks 300+ websites connected to climate change denial. Download it today on Chrome and Firefox.

  • Rainbow Local Government to support and promote the efforts of local governments to foster a culture that is inclusive, responsive and accessible to LGBTIQA+ Victorians.

  • Pro Bono News monthly column My column 'Into the Rainbow' focuses on emerging issues, campaigns, and legislative reform affecting and impacting LGBTIQA+ communities.
